1. What cookies and local storage are
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device. Local storage is a similar technology that lets a website keep small pieces of information in your browser. Both can be used to make a site work, to remember your preferences, or to collect information about how the site is used.
In this policy we use the word “cookies” to cover cookies, local storage and similar technologies.
2. The law on cookies
The use of cookies in the UK is governed by the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR), alongside the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. PECR says that we may only store information on your device, or read it, if it is strictly necessary to provide the service you have asked for, or if you have given your consent.
3. How we use cookies
We keep cookies to a minimum. At present this website:
- stores one strictly necessary item in your browser’s local storage to remember your cookie choice, so the banner does not appear on every page;
- does not set any analytics, advertising or social media cookies;
- loads fonts from Google Fonts. This does not set cookies, but your browser’s request reveals your IP address to Google.
Our cookie banner includes optional “Analytics” and “Marketing” categories so that you can tell us your preference in advance. If we introduce a tool in either category, it will only run if you have switched that category on, and we will list it in the table below before we start using it.
4. Cookies and storage we use

5. Managing your choices
You can change your mind at any time by using the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. This reopens the banner so you can accept, reject or adjust each category.
You can also block or delete cookies and local storage through your browser settings. The ICO’s guidance at ico.org.uk/for-the-public/online/cookies explains how. If you clear local storage, we will simply ask for your cookie choice again on your next visit.
